Inductors, coils, and chokes are various names used to refer to products that store energy in the form of a magnetic field. The vast majority of products found in this category are simple fixed-value devices, though adjustable types, products for wireless power transmission, and magnetically coupled inductor arrays are also included. Note that the coupled-inductor devices found within this product family are characterized by having multiple identical windings sharing a common magnetic core; similar products with non-identical windings are more commonly described as transformers and are categorized as such.
