Overview
The AD7785BRUZ is a low power, low noise, complete analog front end for high precision measurement applications. It contains a low noise 20-bit ∑-Δ ADC with three differential analog inputs. The on-chip, low noise instrumentation amplifier means that signals of small amplitude can be interfaced directly to the ADC. With a gain setting of 64, the rms noise is 40 nV when the update rate equals 4.17 Hz. The device contains a precision low noise, low drift internal band gap reference and can accept an external differential reference. Other on-chip features include programmable excitation current sources, burnout currents, and a bias voltage generator. The bias voltage generator sets the common-mode voltage of a channel to AVDD/2.
Feature Summary
- Low noise programmable gain instrumentation amplifier
- Band gap reference with 4 ppm/°C drift typical
- Simultaneous 50 Hz/60 Hz rejection
- Programmable current sources
Applications
- Thermocouple measurements
- RTD measurements
- Thermistor measurements
- Gas analysis
- Industrial process control
Procurement Notes
Verify the exact part number against official Analog Devices documentation before procurement. Confirm package type and temperature range specifications match your design requirements. Check for any specific ordering suffixes or revisions that may affect compatibility. Ensure compliance with RoHS and other relevant regulatory standards for your application.
Selection Notes
Consider the required resolution, input channels, and interface type when selecting this component. Evaluate the power consumption and operating temperature range to ensure it meets your system's needs. Assess the need for internal versus external references and the impact on overall system accuracy. Review the pin configuration and layout requirements for optimal performance.
Part Context
The AD7785BRUZ belongs to the AD7785 series of analog-to-digital converters from Analog Devices. This series is designed for high precision measurement applications requiring low noise and low power consumption. The BRUZ suffix indicates a specific package and temperature range variant within the product line.
Replacement Considerations
When considering replacements, verify compatibility in terms of pinout, functionality, and electrical specifications. Ensure that any substitute component meets or exceeds the original part's performance criteria. Consult official manufacturer documentation for approved alternatives or cross-reference lists.
