CMS-160903-18S-X8

Speakers Overview

The CMS-160903-18S-X8 is a general-purpose rectangular speaker manufactured by Same Sky. It features a 16 x 9 mm footprint with a 3 mm depth, utilizing a Peek magnet and Nd-Fe-B magnetic structure. The unit operates at an impedance of 8 Ohms with a power rating of 1 W. Its frequency response spans from 760 Hz to 20 kHz, with a resonant frequency of 950 Hz. Termination is achieved via spring contacts, and the device meets IPX8 waterproof standards.

Speakers Feature Summary

• IPX8 waterproof rating for reliable operation in wet environments
• Spring contact termination for simplified board integration
• Compact rectangular form factor with minimal profile height

Speakers Applications

• Waterproof electronic enclosures requiring audio feedback
• Outdoor consumer electronics and smart home devices
• Medical equipment needing sealed acoustic components

Speakers Procurement Notes

Verify the specific suffix configuration against the official Same Sky datasheet to ensure compatibility with required mounting styles and acoustic performance targets. Confirm that spring contact termination aligns with the target PCB design constraints. Check current availability status as supply levels may fluctuate due to manufacturing lead times.

Speakers Selection Notes

Select this component when a low-profile, waterproof speaker is required for compact designs. The 1 W power handling suits moderate volume applications. Ensure the PCB layout accommodates the spring contact mechanism rather than traditional through-hole or surface-mount solder pads. Validate that the 950 Hz resonant frequency fits the application's acoustic requirements.

Speakers Part Context

This model belongs to the Same Sky rectangular speaker series, formerly associated with CUI Devices. It represents a specialized line designed for durability and water resistance. The product distinguishes itself through its shallow 3 mm depth and robust sealing capabilities compared to standard open-frame speakers.

Speakers Replacement Considerations

Direct substitutes are not explicitly listed in public documentation. Evaluate other Same Sky rectangular speakers with similar dimensions (16x9mm) and IPX8 ratings. Verify mechanical fit and electrical parameters before substitution.
