FR 16 WP - 4 OHM (BLACK)

Speakers Overview

The Visaton FR 16 WP - 4 OHM (BLACK) is a general-purpose, weather-resistant full-range loudspeaker designed for panel mounting. It features a round shape with a diameter of 180 mm and operates at an impedance of 4 Ohms. The unit has a power rating of 60 W and delivers a sound pressure level of 86 dBA. Its frequency range extends from 60 Hz to 15 kHz, with a self-resonant frequency of 85 Hz. The speaker is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance and functions within a temperature range of -25°C to +70°C.

Speakers Feature Summary

• Weather-resistant construction suitable for outdoor or humid environments
• Integrated crossover-free full-range design for simplified installation
• Robust magnetic technology ensuring stable performance under varying conditions

Speakers Applications

• Outdoor public address systems
• Marine audio installations
• Industrial communication equipment
• General purpose audio reproduction in harsh environments

Speakers Procurement Notes

Verify the specific color variant (Black) and impedance (4 Ohm) against project requirements. Confirm IP65 sealing integrity if used in high-moisture areas. Ensure amplifier output matches the 60 W power handling capacity. Check physical dimensions for enclosure compatibility prior to ordering.

Speakers Selection Notes

Select this model when a single-driver solution is required for wide-bandwidth applications without external crossovers. Consider the 4 Ohm impedance for matching with compatible amplifiers. Evaluate the 180 mm diameter constraint for mounting spaces. The weather-resistant feature makes it suitable where standard indoor speakers would fail due to environmental exposure.

Speakers Part Context

This component belongs to the Visaton WB series, which focuses on robust, general-purpose loudspeakers. The FR 16 WP designation indicates a 16 cm (6.5 inch) format with waterproof capabilities. It is distinct from the FX series, which utilizes coaxial two-way designs, offering a simpler full-range alternative for broad frequency coverage.

Speakers Replacement Considerations

Direct substitutes are not explicitly confirmed in public documentation. Similar Visaton models include the FR 16 WP - 4 OHM (WHITE) for identical electrical and mechanical specifications with a different aesthetic finish.
