The MAX5421CEUB is a digitally programmable precision voltage divider manufactured by Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated. Designed for single +5V or dual ±5V supply operation, it consumes only 3µA of supply current. The device features a digitally selectable resistor array providing four precision non-inverting gains: 1, 2, 4, and 8. It includes an on-chip matching resistor for operational amplifier bias-current compensation. The component is housed in an 8-pin TSSOP package.
The MAX5421 belongs to the MAX5420/MAX5421 family of digitally programmable precision voltage dividers. These devices are optimized for use in digitally programmable gain amplifier (PGA) configurations. The MAX5421 specifically distinguishes itself from the MAX5420 by including an internal matching resistor designed to compensate for op amp bias currents, enhancing accuracy in high-impedance applications.
The MAX5420 is a direct functional substitute within the same family but lacks the on-chip matching resistor for bias-current compensation. Selection between these parts depends on whether external compensation is acceptable or if internal compensation is required for the specific op amp used.
