The MK2745-21S is a clock synthesizer manufactured by Integrated Device Technology (IDT), now part of Renesas Electronics. Designed for DVD and MPEG-2 applications, it accepts a 27 MHz input to generate multiple audio and processor clocks using analog PLL techniques with zero ppm error. The device operates on a 3.0 V to 5.5 V supply and features eight selectable processor frequencies and fixed 27 MHz/24.576 MHz outputs. It is housed in a 16-pin narrow SOIC package.
Verify the manufacturing source, as IDT was acquired by Renesas. Check for lead-free (LF) designation if RoHS compliance is required. Note that non-green parts reached End-of-Life on May 13, 2010; ensure current stock meets environmental standards.
Select the MK2745-21S when a low-jitter clock source is needed for MPEG-2 video and audio synchronization. Ensure the design supports a 27 MHz fundamental crystal or clock input. Verify voltage requirements against the 3.0 V to 5.5 V operating range.
This component is part of the MK2745 family of clock synthesizers. It serves as a 3.3 V upgrade to the MK2744 model. For NTSC/PAL clock requirements, the MK2712 is the related alternative within the product line.
The MK2745-21STR is the tape and reel version of this component. The MK2745-21SLF is the lead-free variant. Direct functional replacements from other manufacturers are not specified in the datasheet.
