The W6811 is a single-channel PCM CODEC compliant with ITU G.712 and G.711 standards, designed for voiceband applications. It operates on separated analog (4.5V to 5.5V) and digital (2.7V to 3.3V) power supplies. The device features pin-selectable μ-Law or A-Law companding and includes an on-chip precision voltage reference of 1.575 V for a 0 dBm TLP at 600 Ω. It supports seven master clock rates ranging from 256 kHz to 4.096 MHz. The integrated push-pull power amplifiers can drive 300 Ω loads differentially up to 6.3V peak-to-peak. Available in 24-pin PDIP, SOG, SSOP, and TSSOP packages, it functions within an industrial temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.
Verify component authenticity by checking manufacturer markings against official datasheet specifications. Confirm package type matches the ordered variant, such as 24-pin TSSOP or PDIP. Ensure power supply requirements align with the specified analog and digital voltage ranges before integration into the system design.
Select the appropriate package style based on board space constraints and mounting preferences. Verify interface compatibility with the host processor, ensuring support for PCM, GCI, or IDL modes. Check that the system master clock falls within the supported frequency range of 256 kHz to 4.096 MHz for proper operation.
The W6811 belongs to the W6811 series of single-channel voiceband CODECs manufactured by Nuvoton Technology Corporation. This series provides general-purpose digitization and reconstruction of voice signals with band limiting and smoothing filters compliant with ITU-T recommendations.
W6811ISG is a verified RoHS-compliant variant of the W6811 offering identical functionality with lead-free packaging options available.
