TOKYO — Global leading semiconductor and power electronic components manufacturer Renesas Electronics officially issued a new price adjustment notice in early September 2026, confirming a company-wide product price increase. This is the second official price hike announced by Renesas in 2026, following the first round of adjustment implemented on July 1, 2026.
According to the official customer notification and verified by global semiconductor industry media, the latest revised pricing system of Renesas will be fully implemented on January 1, 2027. All pending orders, batch orders and formal contracts executed after the effective date will adopt the new price standard.
Renesas clearly stated the core reasons for the continuous price adjustment in the official announcement. The global semiconductor industry is still facing sustained structural cost pressures, including rising raw material prices, increased industrial energy costs, soaring advanced packaging and chip manufacturing expenses, as well as higher global cross-border logistics and supply chain operating costs.
In addition, the robust downstream market demand further tightens the capacity supply balance. The rapid expansion of demand for new energy vehicles, data center servers, industrial control equipment, and consumer electronic devices has kept power semiconductors, MCU, analog chips and other core Renesas products in tight supply for a long time. The mismatch between market demand and production capacity has become an important factor supporting the continuous adjustment of product prices.
Industry analysts pointed out that Renesas’ two rounds of price increases within a single year reflect the persistent supply-side pressure in the global electronic components market. As a core supplier of automotive-grade semiconductors and industrial control chips, Renesas’s price adjustment will drive the overall price fluctuation of mid-to-high-end power components and MCUs in the market. It is recommended that downstream manufacturers and distributors stock up reasonably in advance to avoid cost risks caused by the new round of price increases after 2027.
Up to now, Renesas has not announced the specific increase range of each product series. The company will release detailed adjusted price lists and product batch quotation standards to authorized distributors and formal customers successively in the fourth quarter of 2026.
