The trend of science and technology is changing rapidly.
Munich, Germany – May 26, 2026 – Power semiconductor and automotive chip giant Infineon Technologies AG has formally notified customers worldwide of a second round of price increases, set to take effect July 1, 2026. The announcement, issued May 26, marks the company’s second pricing adjustment in 2026, following an earlier hike implemented on April 1.
Per the official notice, the price increase covers part of Infineon’s core product portfolio, including power MOSFETs, IGBT modules, high-density power management ICs (PMICs), and automotive-grade semiconductor devices. Exact price adjustment rates and specific affected part numbers will be delivered to respective customers directly by Infineon account managers in due course.
Infineon cited two primary driving factors for the latest pricing adjustment in its official public statement:
Global market fluctuations have triggered continuous rises in energy, raw material, logistics and comprehensive service costs. The sustained upward cost pressure can no longer be fully digested through internal operational optimization, forcing necessary external price adjustments.
Market demand for Infineon’s core power semiconductor products has greatly exceeded previous industry forecasts. The booming development of AI data centers, new energy vehicles (NEVs) and modern industrial automation has driven explosive growth in product demand. In addition, large-scale wafer capacity expansion and technological iteration require massive capital investment, making price adjustments essential to maintain stable global production and supply operations.
Major global power semiconductor manufacturers have launched successive price adjustment policies throughout 2026. Before Infineon’s latest announcement, STMicroelectronics had completed a maximum 15% price increase for multiple product lines, which took effect on April 26, 2026.
Industry professional analysts predict that the global supply shortage of 8-inch mature process semiconductor capacity will continue until the first half of 2027. Sustained strong demand for power devices and PMICs from AI server manufacturing, new energy vehicles and photovoltaic inverter industries will keep the global power semiconductor sector in a stable upward price cycle.
