Force Sensors detect and respond to the presence or a change in the amount of pressure on their actuator, which can be a ball, button, diaphragm, flat membrane, plunger, or pushbutton. The three sensor types are force sensing resistor, load cell, and resistive. Their operating force ranges covering 0 to 1500 newtons (N), 0 to 22,680 kilograms force (kgf) or 0 to 50,000 pounds (lbs.), with output options of analog voltage, resistive, ratiometric, and voltage.

Learn the relay definition, coil and contact operation, NO and NC forms, load ratings and suppression choices. Compare mechanical, reed and solid-state types.
